Field Service Project – Utility Data Contractors

We are constantly working to improve electric service reliability to all of its customers.  As part of this effort, we have scheduled a field contractor, Utility Data Contractors (UDC), to perform a field project in your area. This project is system-wide, and its purpose is to collect pole and padmount transformer locations used in our system network modeling activities. The data collection is performed on a mobile device and should take only a couple of minutes. This project will help CPS Energy teams minimize system outage and restoration times and help construction crews find affected locations quicker with this accurate data.

The UDC personnel will clearly display CPS Energy Contractor badges that have been issued for identification, as well as appropriate vehicle identification which should also be clearly identified. This verification process may require the UDC technician to enter adjacent utility easements, enter your private property or request access to your back yard. This is so the facility location can be accurately spotted and marked using the mobile data technology to capture the locations. The technician will make every attempt to notify you in person before entering your property. If that is not possible, a door hanger will be left to notify you know they visited while you were away. We hope to gain access to get the best inspection results possible. All field work will be done between 7:00a.m. – 7:00p.m., Monday through Saturday.

If you have any questions or concerns associated with this project, contact Bob Strachan at (210) 353-2585, for further information. Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain reliable electric service in your neighborhood.
