Theft of Energy

Anyone who tries to steal energy, vandalize electrical equipment or bypass an electric or gas meter, creates a very dangerous and deadly situation. It’s also against the law.

You can help CPS Energy fight energy theft by looking for these signs:

  • A non-uniformed person appearing to work on a meter or digging near underground pipelines or power lines
  • Loose wiring or other objects connected to or near a meter
  • Flexible tubing which is always near a meter

Reporting Utility Service Theft:

If you suspect someone of stealing utility services, please report this suspicious activity anonymously using our online form:  Report Utility Service Theft

Or call us at (210) 353-4688 (HOTT).
