CPS ENERGY ANNOUNCES NEW GOOGLE AND APPLE PAY OPTIONS FOR CUSTOMERS
Customers can now use American Express cards and digital wallets to pay their bills with their smartphones, tablets, or computers.
September 12, 2024 (SAN ANTONIO) – CPS Energy has launched new digital wallet payment technology options designed to offer customers more flexibility, convenience, and improved customer service when paying their energy bills. Digital wallets will be available for customers to make payments through their Google or Apple Pay accounts. Additionally, CPS Energy now accepts American Express cards, further expanding payment options for customers. The addition of these new payment options is another step in the utility’s commitment to investing in technology and represents CPS Energy’s ongoing commitment to improve customer service. Customers can use their digital wallets to make payments through CPS Energy’s Manage My Account (MMA).
A digital wallet is a secure online service that allows users to store funds and make payments quickly and easily through a mobile app or website. By linking customers’ bank accounts, credit cards, or debit cards to their Google Pay or Apple Pay account, CPS Energy customers can pay their bills without needing to re-enter payment information each time, making transactions more user-friendly.
“We’re committed to making the experience of doing business with CPS Energy as easy and convenient as possible,” said Christen Waggoner, VP Customer Experience Operations at CPS Energy. “With the addition of new payment options, we’re providing our customers with the flexibility they need to manage their accounts in a way that works best for them, whether that be in person, by mail or through their computer, tablet, or smartphone.”
The addition of these new payment methods does not impact other already existing payment options. Customers can submit a one-time Apple Pay, Google Pay, Debit Card, or Credit Card payment online or by signing up for Manage My Account (MMA). There is a vendor convenience fee when paying over the phone or online of $2.35 per transaction for these one-time payments. Customers still have the ability to donate to CPS Energy programs, such as the utility’s Residential Energy Assistance Partnership (REAP) through the new digital payment options.
