Energy Conservation Programs
Technology makes saving energy easy and convenient
Through our home energy efficiency, or demand response, programs you can earn financial incentives for conserving energy during periods of high demand. You’ll also be helping your neighbors and community alleviate stress on our energy supplies.
What is Demand Response?
Demand response is a program where you can help conserve electricity during periods of peak usage, such as on a hot summer day. By lowering demand during peak times, you help utilities manage their resources better, which will improve the way electricity is delivered and used. This makes our grid more reliable and efficient for everyone.
What does it mean for you?
By participating in the demand response program, you help us conserve electricity during periods of peak usage. During a conservation event — when CPS Energy has to make adjustments to your thermostat — your thermostat will turn on and off at a slightly higher thermostat setting, but in a way that keeps your home comfortable. You will always have the choice to opt out of an event.
Being part of the demand response program makes you eligible for financial incentives and free or reduced-cost equipment that can help you manage your energy use and lower your bill. But most importantly, by reducing your energy use during times of peak demand, you help ensure that there's enough electricity to go around when the community needs it most.
