Personal Devices for Measuring Core Body Temperature & Hydration Levels

Collective 7900100032

Description: CPS Energy is seeking methods for utilizing technology to further protect our employees’ physical health while performing work for our customers and community. In particular, the hot South Texas weather poses a threat to the well-being of our employees, and we are looking for ways to proactively mitigate risks associated with heat-related illness and injury.

Solicitation Detail:

The purpose of this RFI is to obtain information regarding the project as described below: CPS Energy is considering implementation of a personal wearable device that measures and monitors the employee’s core body temperature.  CPS Energy is also considering implementation of a similar device that measures and monitors the employee’s hydration level.  The tool should indicate/alert when the employee’s core body temperature or hydration level approaches dangerous levels.  This will enable the employee to temporarily halt work activities until their body is able to recover.  The goal is to have an early detection and warning system to prevent the escalation of heat-related impacts to each employee’s health while they work in the field.
