Field service project – Utility Data Contractors

CPS Energy is constantly working to improve electric service reliability for all of its customers. As part of this effort, Utility Data Contractors (UDC), will be performing a field project in your area. Through this project, information related to pole and padmount transformer locations will be collected. This project will help CPS Energy reduce system outage and restoration times and help construction crews find affected locations faster with more accurate data.

All field work for this project will be completed between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. UDC personnel should clearly display CPS Energy contractor badges that have been issued for identification and also have appropriate vehicle identification. Access to your property may be necessary in order to get the best inspection results possible. A UDC technician may enter adjacent utility easements, enter your private property, or request access to your back yard to accurately spot and mark the facility locations using mobile data technology. The data collection is performed on a mobile device and should be completed in minutes. The technician will make every attempt to notify you in person before entering your property. If that is not possible, a door hanger will be left to let you know they visited while you were away.

If you have any questions or concerns associated with this project, please contact CPS Energy Security at (210) 353-4000 for further information.
