A programmable thermostat allows you to set up the times and days you turn on/off your heating or air conditioning system. You can always override programming at the thermostat, and with WiFi you can adjust programming or temperature settings remotely from your phone.

If you have an existing eligible WiFi thermostat, or you purchase and install a new eligible WiFi thermostat, you will receive an $150 credit on your energy bill for enrolling in our WiFi Thermostat Rewards Program. Following the summer season of each year, you will also earn a $30 bill credit per business or household account for as long as you remain enrolled.

Participating in our WiFi Thermostat Rewards Program helps prevent power outages in our community and across the state. During times when energy demand is at its highest, we may briefly adjust your thermostat settings by a few degrees. We’ll do this only as needed and you can override adjustments manually at your thermostat or using your thermostat’s app.

What if I have more than one thermostat? You will earn the $150 one-time rebate for each thermostat you enroll! You will earn one $30 rebate each year your account remains enrolled.

What if I already have a thermostat? No problem, simply enroll in WiFi Thermostat Rewards to claim your rebates.

Am I eligible for promotional offers from the thermostat manufacturers?  Yes, check the manufacturers' websites, online retail outlets, and stores for deals!

How do I opt out of my enrollment in the program?  To permanently remove your thermostat(s) from the program, notify CPS Energy by email at [email protected]. Please allow two to three business days for your request to be completed. You will not earn the $30 annual bill credit after you opt out of the program.

To qualify for the $150 bill credit, you must enroll a CPS Energy approved WiFi thermostat and install in your business or home.  Enroll in WiFi Thermostat Rewards and allow CPS Energy to briefly adjust your thermostat settings during peak energy usage times. Each year, following the end of September, a $30 bill credit per household will be applied to your bill.

Through this program, you agree to allow us to make adjustments to your thermostat during peak energy usage times, or what we refer to as "conservation events." This will likely happen several times during the summer months and typically occurs between the hours of 1 p.m. – 10 p.m., Monday through Friday. During conservation events, you can opt-out at any time through your thermostat or smartphone app and return to your normal settings. Conservation events don't occur often but are crucial in managing the energy needs of our community.

Smart Thermostats installed by CPS Energy do not qualify for the $150 bill credit or the $30 annual bill credit.
