Theft of Energy
Anyone who tries to steal energy, vandalize electrical equipment or bypass an electric or gas meter, creates a very dangerous and deadly situation. It’s also against the law.
You can help CPS Energy fight energy theft by looking for these signs:
- A non-uniformed person appearing to work on a meter or digging near underground pipelines or power lines
- Loose wiring or other objects connected to or near a meter
- Flexible tubing which is always near a meter
