To maintain the overall health of our infrastructure and utility system, we have to occasionally close roads to perform upgrades, maintenance and replacements. The road closures below are scheduled but on occasion, we are forced to close roads to make unscheduled repairs to our equipment.

NEW LAW:  CPS Energy reminds you as of September 2019, the Move Over Slow Down law now includes the requirement to move over or slow down for utility vehicles with flashing lights. Help keep our crews safe.

• Scope of Work: CPS Energy contractors and crews will install and remove overhead conductors crossing 1604 Loop. 
• Traffic Control and Notifications: CPS Energy crews will be working on both sides of SH1604 Loop E & SH1604 Loop W and access/ frontage roads.
  • (3) rolling stops of SH1604 Loop S & SH1604 Loop N will be to install conductors safely.
  • (3) rolling stops of SH1604 Loop S & SH1604 Loop N will be to remove conductors safely.
  • (13) Onsite Law Enforcement Officers, Jag traffic control will provide the necessary traffic control.
  • (6) Message board signs were put in place on June 26, 2024
  • Jag will be setting up the lane closures
  • (13) Law Officers will direct traffic as needed
  • (6) Crash Trucks will be used for rolling stops
  • (5) Crash Trucks will be used on the access/ frontage roads 
• Outages: There will not be any outages during this procedure.

• Scope of Work: CPS Energy contractors and crews will be installing and removing the overhead primary wire crossing Hwy 90 and Probandt St.  
• Traffic Control and Notifications: Blue Shield traffic control will be providing traffic control on the East and West bound sides of Hwy 90 with 8 rolling traffic stop lasting up to 15 minutes, uniformed officers will be directing traffic.  
• Outages: There will not be any outages during this procedure. 
• TxDOT TCP Plan has been approved.

We are undertaking projects to convert our existing overhead electric lines to underground lines for improved electric service reliability. We are undertaking these projects because underground electric lines are generally less susceptible than overhead lines to damage and/or service interruptions due to storms, vehicles, trees, and animals. These enhancements to our infrastructure are meant to significantly improve the electric service we provide in neighborhoods throughout our service area. Find project-specific information here.

During infrastructure projects, you may experience temporary power outages that are necessary for our field crews to perform their work safely.
