The Howard Road to San Miguel Transmission Line Project involves the proposed construction of approximately 50 miles of transmission infrastructure traversing parts of Atascosa and Bexar Counties. This project will be completed with collaboration between CPS Energy and South Texas Electric Cooperative (STEC). The proposed transmission line project will connect the CPS Energy Howard Road station and STEC’s San Miguel station in Christine, TX
This project will increase the resiliency and reliability of Texas’ electric grid by adding another transmission pathway, while also adding support to the accelerating growth south of San Antonio.
Update 10-04-2024: CPS Energy and STEC have filed their Joint CCN Application for the Howard Road to San Miguel Transmission Line Project with the Public Utility Commission of Texas under docket number 57115. The filed application can be found on the PUC Interchange website here. Digital copies of the complete application and attachments are available on this website and the PUC Interchange. Notice packages (Attachment 6) for this project have been mailed out via first class mail to all directly affected Landowners. If you wish to participate in this proceeding by becoming an intervenor, the deadline for intervention in the proceeding is November 4, 2024, and the PUC should receive an electronic filing or letter from you requesting intervention by that date.
