Common Voltage Disturbances
A variety of issues can cause a problem with your electrical service − what we call “a voltage disturbance.”
Here are the typical challenges CPS Energy must manage to keep your electric power up and running:
- Transmission line problem caused by animals, weather, unforeseen equipment failure
- Voltage disturbance on one distribution line affects an adjacent distribution line
- Substation circuit breaker opens and closes momentarily
- Severe weather
- Equipment failure or tree damage to conductor wires
- A vehicle hits distribution poles
- In addition, heavy equipment, appliances and other issues can cause an electrical failure in a home or business
